Literature Text

This brain has an ability I cannot quite fathom.
Clashing view points that I thrash my arms about inbetween.
The worst is this objective/ subjective thing. Real/ unreal.
Surface and fold. For the longest time I wanted to die.

Unable to cope with external reality, I
quested inwards, chemically guided, prescripted and
else-wise. I found there is no road but the one we're making.
A silly mistake, receptors flooded, the dawn floored me.

Funny, the attempts I made and yet being that close made me care
anew.

*

The bottomless seas
of experience; one day
all of us will drown.

The siren's singing ceases,
the way shows itself again.
This is a collaboration with AlecBell [link]

He created the Haiku in the last part as a prompt for several people.
We've been doing a few collaborations where one of us will start a Tanka with the Haiku part and the other will complete the couplet.

I've done that here, but I also wanted to try my hand at Haibun, where a prose section is summed up by a Haiku.
So I suppose this is a Tank-bun?

So, matter and form are united, this poem being about an experimental time in my life and through being experimental with the poetry form.

Or maybe I'm just having a pretentious day.

A tanka within a haibun is recognised. If it weren't you'd have invented it!

I'm pleased that you've found a good home for the Haiku. The poem works well, I think.
